Metal

Metal is an element that readily loses electrons to form positive ions (cations) and has metallic bonds between metal atoms. Metals form  ionic bonds with non-metals. They are sometimes described as a lattice of positive ions surrounded by a cloud of delocalized electrons.

Sheet metal is simply metal formed into thin and flat pieces. It is one of the fundamental forms used in metal working, and can be cut and bent into a variety of different shapes. A main feature of sheet metal is its ability to be formed and shaped by a variety of processes. Each process does something different to the metal giving it a different shape or size.
